Company Brief: This organization is a market leader in key insurance and investment product lines in USA.
Challenge
This client required a enterprise data warehousing environment to perform the key analysis at the corporate level. The new solution need to developed in the latest Cognos 8.2 reporting and analysis environment. It already had large implementation of Cognos 7 environment that provides the reporting functionalities to the internal and external users. Along with centralized enterprise level solution, client wanted to migrate the current Cognos 7 environment (around 500 Cognos impromptu reports, around 80 powerplay analysis cubes) to a Cognos 8.2 environment in a phased manner.

Challenge:
The Executive Information System (EIS) is an application meant for catering to the information needs of Management team. The application aims to provide single information view across the organization to present consistent information i.e. “one version of truth”. The application aims to provide secured access to the data pertaining to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the business, that are sourced (from multiple sources, which are both internal and external to the organization), massaged (applying the relevant business rules), stored, and reported in an user friendly manner to the management executives.
The EIS system would Besides catering to the above mentioned will provide adhoc report, dashboard, balance score card etc. linked to vision of the organization and system would provide functionalities like DSS (Decision Support System), advance analytics, workflow etc that can help the users to take timely decisions. Challenge
The proposed a 3-Phase solution approach suggested by SRISDI, for the Business Intelligence Project solution for their management reports across the globe in the phase 1 and Project data datamart & integration of ETL with oracle apps application in the phase 2 & 3.
SRISDI Solution:
Phase 1, which included generating major management reports, has already been successfully implemented. Phases 2 & 3 of the Business Intelligence Project build upon the foundation laid in Phase 1, and focus on the creation of the Project Margin Data Mart and some related reported and analytical functionality.
